The short version: Resume Pilot has no account and no server storing your resumes — everything you write is saved in a database on your own device. There is no analytics SDK and no tracking. The one time your content leaves the device is when you use Import, Scan, or Dictation: that specific file, image or audio is sent to our AI provider over an encrypted connection so it can be turned into structured text. Details in Section 04.

Section 03

What Stays On Your Device

Resume Pilot is built to work on-device by default. The following is stored in a local database on your phone or tablet. It is not uploaded to us, not synced, and not visible to us in any form.

Stored locallyWhy
Your resumes — name, contact details, work history, education, skills and every other section you fill inSo you can edit, score, preview and export them
Cover letters you generateSo you can revisit and reuse them
Tailored versions and the job descriptions you paste inSo each application keeps its own targeted resume
Job tracker entries — company, role, stage, notesTo run your Saved → Applied → Interview → Offer board
Interview prep questions and answersSo your practice is there next time
Progress data — streak, XP, level, achievements, missionsTo keep the momentum features working
Settings and entitlement flag — theme, reminders, whether Unlimited is unlockedTo remember how you've set the app up

Reminders and notifications are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent from a server, which means we never see when or whether you are job hunting.

Section 04

AI Features — What Leaves Your Device (Important)

This is the one part of Resume Pilot where your content leaves your device, so we want to be completely explicit about it.

Some features cannot run on-device and are processed by our AI provider, Groq, Inc., via its API at api.groq.com. Transmission is over an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection. This happens only at the moment you actively use one of these features — never in the background, and never on a schedule.

FeatureWhat is sent
Import a PDF, Word, text or LinkedIn fileThe text extracted from that document, so it can be parsed into resume sections
Scan a paper resume with the cameraThe image you captured, so the text can be read from it
Dictation / voice-to-bulletsThe audio you record, so it can be transcribed into text
AI writing — bullets, summaries, cover letters, tailoring, interview questionsThe relevant section of your resume and, where applicable, the job description you pasted
Please be aware: a resume typically contains personal information — your name, email address, phone number, and employment history. When you use one of the features above, that information is included in what is transmitted for processing. If you would rather it never left your device, type your content in manually instead of using Import, Scan, or Dictation, and avoid the AI writing features.

What we do not send

  • Any account identifier, device ID, or advertising ID — none exists to send
  • Your other resumes, your job tracker, or anything you did not submit to that feature
  • Your location, contacts, or photo library contents

How the provider handles it

Content is sent to Groq for the sole purpose of returning the processed result to you. It is not sent with any identifier that links it to you personally, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

Groq processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy, which we encourage you to read: groq.com/privacy-policy. Their policy governs their retention periods and handling practices, which are outside our control.

Once the processed result comes back, it is written to your device's local database. We do not keep a copy.

Section 05

What We Do Not Collect

Resume Pilot does not collect personal information for our own purposes. Specifically, we do not collect or receive:

  • Account credentials — there is no account, no password, and no login screen
  • Analytics or behavioural data — no analytics SDK is bundled in the app
  • Crash or diagnostic reports — no crash-reporting SDK is bundled
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID) or any cross-app tracking data
  • Your precise location, contacts, or calendar

The App does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because it does not track you.

The app stores (Apple and Google) independently collect their own aggregate statistics — download counts, anonymised crash rates — under their own privacy policies. We see only anonymous, aggregated figures in their dashboards and cannot identify you from them.

Section 06

Device Permissions

Resume Pilot requests only the permissions its features actually need, and only at the point you use the feature. You can grant or revoke any of them at any time in your device settings — denying one disables just that feature, not the app.

PermissionWhy it is requested
MicrophoneLets you dictate your experience so it can be turned into resume bullets.
Speech recognitionTurns what you say into text for those bullets.
CameraLets you scan a paper resume to import it.
Photo libraryLets you pick an existing photo of a resume so its text can be read.
NotificationsLocal reminders to follow up on an application or refresh a stale resume. Scheduled on-device.
Network accessRequired for the AI features in Section 04 and to open the purchase page.

Resume Pilot does not request location, contacts, or calendar access.

Section 07

Purchases

Resume Pilot is free to use. Resume Pilot Unlimited is an optional one-time purchase that unlocks all templates, unlimited AI and unlimited exports. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

Payment is handled by the applicable app store or payment provider. We never see or store your card number, billing address, or any payment credential. We receive only confirmation of whether the unlock applies, which is stored as a simple flag on your device.

Refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, under its own refund policy. See the Terms of Use for detail.

Section 08

Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the limited processing we carry out relies on:

  • Performance of a contract — transmitting your content to the AI provider when you actively request an AI feature, so we can deliver the result you asked for
  • Legitimate interests — operating, securing and maintaining the App
  • Consent — device permissions such as microphone, camera and notifications, which you may withdraw at any time in your device settings
  • Legal obligation — where we must comply with applicable law

Because your resumes are stored only on your device, most of what you do in Resume Pilot involves no processing by us at all.

Section 09

Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The only third parties involved are:

  • Groq, Inc. — processes content you submit to an AI feature (Section 04). Privacy policy.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play — distribute the app and process any purchase. Payment details go directly to them.
  • Legal & safety — we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Fulgor Labs, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfer — if Fulgor Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, with notice to affected users.

When you export or share a resume, your device's own share sheet sends that file wherever you choose. That transfer is between you and the destination app; it does not pass through us.

Section 10

Retention & Deletion

We hold no server-side record of you, so there is no account for us to retain or erase. The lifetime of your data is entirely in your hands:

  • Delete everything — Settings → delete all data wipes every resume, cover letter, tracked application and setting from your device in one tap.
  • Delete one item — remove any individual resume from the resume list.
  • Uninstall — removes the entire local database with the app.
  • Exported files — these are yours; delete them from wherever you saved them.
  • Support emails — if you email us, we keep that correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your issue, then delete it.

Content processed by the AI provider is retained according to their policy, not ours.

Section 11

Security

  • All network requests, including AI processing, use encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections
  • Your resumes are stored in the App's private, sandboxed storage provided by iOS and Android
  • No credentials are collected, so there is no password database to breach
  • We operate no server holding user resumes, which removes an entire class of risk

No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we design Resume Pilot to hold as little of your data as possible — the strongest protection available.

Please note that a resume you export and share is out of our control once sent. Treat it as you would any document containing your personal details.

Section 12

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent.

In practice, because your resumes are held only on your device, most of these rights are satisfied directly in the App: your data is already exclusively in your possession, you can edit it at will, and deleting it is immediate and complete.

EEA / UK (GDPR) — you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California (CCPA/CPRA) — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

To exercise a right or ask a question, email dev.zakirkhan@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.

Section 13

Children's Privacy

Resume Pilot is intended for people of working age seeking employment. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA where applicable), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, contact dev.zakirkhan@gmail.com and we will address it promptly.

Section 14

International Data Transfers

Our AI provider operates infrastructure in the United States and potentially other countries. When you use an AI feature, the content you submit may therefore be processed outside your own country, including outside the EEA or UK.

Where such transfers involve personal data, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms. No account data is transferred, because none exists.

Section 15

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, our providers, or legal requirements. When we make a material change — for example, adding an analytics or advertising SDK, or changing AI providers — we will update the "Last updated" date above, post the revised policy at this URL, and update our app store privacy disclosures to match.

Continued use of Resume Pilot after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
