Troubleshooting

Common issues, solved

Most problems fall into one of these. Try the steps here first — if none of it helps, email us.

The app says the link isn't supported

Make sure you copied the full link, not a shortened preview or a screenshot of it. The link should start with https://.

Content that is private, age-restricted, region-locked, or behind a login cannot be resolved — SaveReel does not bypass any access control, paywall, or DRM by design.

If the link is public and still fails, email it to us and we'll investigate.

The download is stuck or fails partway

Check your connection and that you have free storage on the device. Large videos need room for the full file.

On Android, make sure SaveReel is allowed to ignore battery optimisation (Settings → Apps → SaveReel → Battery) so the system doesn't kill an in-progress download when the screen is off.

Pull down to refresh the Downloads tab, then retry. If it keeps failing on the same link, send it to us.

Nothing happens when I tap Paste

SaveReel reads the link from your clipboard, so there needs to be one there. Copy the link again, then reopen the app.

On iOS, if you're asked to allow pasting, choose Allow Paste. If you previously denied it, the app can't see your clipboard until you allow it.

I can't find my saved files

Everything you save is in the Downloads tab, split into Videos, Images, and Music.

If you chose to save to your device gallery, files also appear in your Photos app (iOS) or Gallery (Android). This requires the media permission to be granted — check your device settings if the folder looks empty.

Audio stops when I lock my phone

Saved audio is designed to keep playing in the background. If it stops, confirm notifications are allowed for SaveReel — the background player uses a media notification to stay alive.

On Android, also disable battery optimisation for SaveReel. On iOS, make sure the track is playing from the Music tab rather than a muted video preview.

Playback has no sound

Check the silent/ring switch on iOS and the media volume (not ringtone volume) on Android. If the source media had no audio track, the saved file won't have one either — extracting MP3 from a silent clip produces an empty track.
